Like many small North Georgia towns, Blue Ridge was laid out in 1886 when the railroad, the this case, the Marietta and North Georgia Railroad expanded to haul lumber back to Atlanta. Today, the mountains, waterfalls, Blue Ridge Lake, fishing, hiking, and even a ride on the old railroad tracks makes this a great family destination!
